We were asked by the Carpenters to advise on the future development potential of this 20 acre site on the edge of the Stratford Rail Lands.
The Carpenters had owned the site for over 250 years. It was multi tenanted and had been used for various industrial purposes for the last 100 years. The Carpenters recognised however that this area was likely to change dramatically in the medium term with the major proposed development around the new Channel Tunnel Passenger Station.
Our Role
We worked with the Carpenters to establish the Planning Framework and Development Strategy for the site.
We selected a development partner to progress a Masterplan and Planning Application for the land, following extensive negotiations with the London Borough of Newham. We were able to secure SRB and ERDF funding for decontamination of part of the site.
Prior to progression of a revised Planning Application, terms were agreed for a disposal of the site to the LDA as part of their ongoing role in promoting the UK's 2012 Olympic Bid.
